Obituary

Thomas B. Nolan, age 84, of New Castle, Delaware passed away surrounded by his family on July 18, 2023.

Tommy was a lifelong resident of New Castle.  He graduated from William Penn High School in 1957.  Tommy proudly served in the Army Security Agency from 1957-1960 as a high-speed Morse code interceptor in Korea.  He continued his service in the Delaware National Guard part time for many years and retired as a first sergeant of the 262 maintenance company.

Tommy was employed at Getty Oil Company from 1960-2002.  He was a member of VFW Post #838, American Legion post #30 and a member of Masonic Lodge #19 in Delaware City.

Tommy is survived by his two daughters; and the last of his five brothers, William Nolan.  Special thanks to his loyal nephew, Jimmy for the kind, loving attention and care he provided to his uncle for many, many years.

The family would also like to thank neighbors Bob, Rudy, Lucy and Manny for being such good friends throughout the years.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to Hospice for providing excellent comfort and care for Tommy and the family during his last days.

Per Tommy’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
