Violet M. Kirkner, age 86, of Claymont, DE passed away on April 24, 2020 at Christiana Hospital.

Born in Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bertha Hurst

Violet was a sweet and fun loving soul, always a smile on her face and ready to help anyone she could.  Violet was a homemaker, she loved baking and the many trips she took with her sisters and daughter.  She was an avid bowler for many years.  Violet enjoyed the fun times at the casino, but her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren and family.

Violet is predeceased by her husband, Harvey, her son, Dean at a very young age, her sister, Barbara Ann, her brothers, Roy, Harry and Charles, her sister in law, Lois, and her brother in law Albert, and longtime companion, Charlie Secrest.  She is survived by her daughter, Edna Mae (Michael), her son, David, her grandchildren, Brian (Kateri), Jeremy (Tammy), Dave (Kim), Danny (Heather), her great grandchildren, Kayla, Billy, Patrick, Davey, RJ, Daniel, Cody, Kellen, and Brantland, her great great grandaughter, Evelyn, her sisters, Helen (Joe), Doris, Nancy (Ron), her sisters in law, Elaine, Raceil, Kellee, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her dear friend, Joyce.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, services will be private.  A memorial service may be held at a later date.
