William Dwight House, age 79, of Claymont, DE passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.

Born in Wilmington, NC, William was the son of the late, Vernon Hoover House and Dorothy (Tue)House.  He received his GED while in the Army in 1964 from Kama Ki High School, Hawaii.

William started truck driving when he was 16 years old, delivering turkeys to New York City from North Carolina.  He then started hauling cows out of Mule Shoe, TX for 13 years.  William changed over to cross country team driving with his wife, Gloria for the next 30 years until he retired.  His last employer was Food Lion, where he was a cheese slicer until he passed.

William had one child, Ann House, who passed away May 13, 2024.  He is survived by his wife, Gloria T. House; brothers, Henry Brown of OK, Glen Brown and Kerry Brown, both of GA; sister, Doralee Rustin of GA; and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Monday, November 17, 2025 from 10am to 11am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where a funeral service will begin at 11am.  Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
