William A. “Bill” Driver passed away Saturday, January 29, 2021 in Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.
Bill was born in Farmville, North Carolina, spending most of his younger days in Rocky Mount, Elm City and Wilson before moving to Raleigh to attend the North Carolina School for The Blind. Upon graduation, he moved to Wilmington, Delaware to practice his trade as a masseur at the YMCA, retiring after 15 years. He started his second career as an assembly line worker at General Motors in 1996, retiring after 16 years.
Bill was an avid bowler, dart player and always quick with a joke.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geraldine Stallings Driver; cousin, Leon Driver and his wife, Audrey; a host if cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Fabian and Johanna Palmer and Alice McGonigle.
Visitation will be Monday, February 7, 2021, 10am to 11am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Diabetes Foundation.
