William "Bill" M. Ashley, Sr.

William ‘Bill’ Milton Ashley, Sr., longtime manager of Jim O’Hanlons’ Mister Donut and Dunkin Donuts went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2021, at the age of 78.

Bill was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Wilber F. Jr. and Myrtle Ashley.  He lived in several towns throughout Delaware, residing primarily in Dover, where he managed Mister Donut (now Dunkin Donuts) on Kings Hwy for over 36 years.

Bill was an avid woodworker and enjoyed renovating the homes he lived in throughout the years, along with gardening.  He was very proud of his flowers and enjoyed creating a welcoming landscape to all who visited.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Swan of Milford, DE; son, William (Kathleen) of Clover, SC; grandchildren, Caleb, Levi, Savannah and Isaac; niece, Donna Sue Ashley of Lincoln, DE; and nephew, Donald Ashley of Wilmington, DE.

Viewing will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 from 10:30am to 11:30am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE 19720, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30am.  Burial will be in Glebe Cemetery, New Castle, DE.
