John Edward Mahek, Jr.

John E. Mahek, Jr., age 46, of Claymont, DE, passed away suddenly on January 16, 2019 in the comfort of his home

John was born in Christiana Hospital, Newark DE, son of Lynn Mahek and the late John Mahek, Sr.  He graduated from Hodgson VoTech High School in 1989.  He started his own pest control company, Elite Exterminators that he was very proud of.  But, what he was most proud of are his 2 beautiful children.  He lived for their happiness and making their dreams come true.  John loved playing flag football with his buddies as well as watching his favorite football team, the Eagles.  John was a loving and caring guy who did not hesitate to go out of his way to help anyone who needed it. 

In addition to his father, John is predeceased by his sister, Mary Mahek Cope and his nephew, Steven Cope Jr.   He is survived by his daughter, Brittney Mahek Breakiron (David); son, Tanner John Mahek; mother, Lynn Mahek; siblings, Adam Mahek, Sr. and Katherine Brown (Al); and 2 nephews, Adam Mahek, Jr. and Nathan Cope.

A Viewing will be held Friday morning, January 25, 2019 from 10am to 12pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the church Friday afternoon at 12pm. Interment will follow mass in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE.
