Karen L. Surber, age 74, of Claymont, Delaware, passed away on November 29, 2018.
Karen was born in Collingswood, New Jersey to Edwin and Mildred Anderson. She was raised in Claymont, Delaware. She was a housewife. Karen was a lifetime member of Atonement United Methodist Church of Claymont, Delaware. She taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for 30 plus years. She was a Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Karen loved her Sudoka puzzle, the beach and being in Walt Disney World. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her great grandson, Kellen Michael Tait. Karen will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years, John Surber of Claymont, Delaware; her son, John Surber (Donna) of Claymont, Delaware; her daughter, Donna Tait (Ron) of Kissimmee, Florida; her three granddaughters, Heather Lowe (Daniel) of Wilmington, Delaware, Ashley Regan (Rodney) of Clermont, Florida, Tiffany Marulanda (Mateo) of Winter Haven, Florida; her grandson, Carl Tait of Kissimmee, Florida; and her great grandson, Rodney Regan of Clermont, Florida.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 08, 2018 at 10:00 am at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware 19703, where visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, Delaware 19720.
