Nenette V Quaciari

Nenette (Antoinette) V. Quaciari, age 96, of New Castle, DE, passed away July 23, 2018.

Nenette was born in French Algeria.  She was a professor of fashion design until her marriage to Armand Quaciari, who was serving with the American 5th Army in Algeria during WWII. She wore a wedding gown of her own design, made from a silk US Army parachute. In 1945, she came to the United States as a war bride on a White Cross Hospital ship. She and her husband operated a successful dry cleaning and tailoring business in Wilmington for many years. Nenette was predeceased by her beloved husband and “Cheri”, Armand, in 2001.

Nenette is survived by a son, Gene; a daughter, Agnes; a grandson, John (Vanessa); and four great-grand children.

Visitation will be held at Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware Street, Old New Castle, DE 19720 on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 10AM to 11AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM. Nenette will join Armand (“Cheri”) at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in final repose which will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a veterans group of your choice in Nenette’s honor.
