Robert P. Moyer

Robert P. Moyer, aged 86, of Wilmington, DE passed away February 1, 2018 from complications of a stroke.

Bob and his brother, Bill were the first twins born at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA.  He was raised in Darby, PA and was a longtime resident of Wilmington, DE. After high school and the Naval Reserves, Bob was an ironworker with the Local 451 for over 30 years and for the past 19 years was the sexton at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. He was a talented woodworker who loved saltwater fishing and camping. In his younger years, Bob was a volunteer firefighter and longtime scoutmaster.

Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth and first son, Dennis.  He leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Faith K. Moyer; and his sons, Glenn Moyer and wife, Joan of Hollywood, FL and Garry Moyer of Wilmington, DE; stepsons, Dave McCracken and wife, Myra of Claymont, DE and Rob McCracken and wife, Denise of Middletown, DE.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday Morning, February 8, 2018, 10am at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1530 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, February 7, 2018, 6pm to 8pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
