Age 88, of Claymont, DE, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late Carrie Cupper and Glenn Miller Grove and the wife of the late Frank A. Nejako, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. Betsy was a native of Tyrone, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Lock Haven State Teachers College and received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Delaware. Betsy spent her entire career as an elementary school and special education teacher, retiring in 1998 at age 69. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Claymont.
Betsy’s strength and kindness were an inspiration to all and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Nejako of Claymont, DE; two sons, Frank R. Nejako and his wife Beverly of Fairfax, VA, and David G. Nejako and his wife Susan of Lansdale, PA; five grandchildren, Frannie Dove (Andy) and Matthew, Laura, Abigail and Steven Nejako, and sister-in-law Joanne Grove of Birmingham, AL. She was predeceased by her brother Glenn Grove and brother-in-law Mark Nejako and his wife Nancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE at 11 am Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018. You may visit with the family on Monday evening, April 2, 2018 from 6-8 pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
