Christine B. Bennett Obituary

Christine “Chris” B. Bennett, age 66, of Claymont, DE, peacefully passed away at home on July 11, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.


Chris was kind, loving and loyal, who was willing to help anyone at any time. She was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the Hall Burke VFW, post 5447, as past President, Chaplin and Trustee.

Chris was a dedicated wife and mother. She treasured her “guys” and embraced every moment with them. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved her role as Grandmom. She will be dearly missed.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Catherine Blanton and brother, Albert.

Chris is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Steve; children, Steven Jr, David, and Brian; grandchildren, Shane, Logan and Paige; brother, Jack (Robin); sisters, Kathy and Mary Beth (John).

A Viewing will be held at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 10:00am until 11:30am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703 at 12:00PM.  Followed by interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
