Clara E. Pfitzenmeyer

Clara Elizabeth Pfitzenmeyer, age 86, of Claymont, DE, formerly of Chadds Ford, PA passed peacefully at home Friday, December 18, 2020.

Born in Embreeville, PA, raised in Chadds Ford, PA, Clara was the daughter of the late Martin and Ethel Turner.  She was a 1953 graduate of Kennett High School. Clara was employed in the banking industry most of her working career.  She was a member of Atonement United Methodist Church, Claymont, DE. Clara bowled in several leagues most of her life. Her most favorite things were food, friends and church.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Dawn Shomper of Claymont, DE; grandsons, Robert Pfitzenmeyer, Charles Pfitzenmeyer; great granddaughter, Ariel Pfitzenmeyer, all of Oklahoma; several cousins; 2 sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews; her church family; and her cat Simon. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her son, Robert Pfitzenmeyer in 2011 and her husband, Sonny Pfitzenmeyer in 2014.

Private services will be held at Atonement United Methodist Church, Claymont, DE with private burial in Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.
