Clara M. Liro

Clara M. Liro, age 94, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully  surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in the Accent Care Hospice Unit, Christiana Hospital.

Clara was born in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Agostino and Laura Ciaschini.  She moved to Delaware in 1962.

Clara worked in Food Service for the Brandywine School District for 27 years. She also served as Union President of Food Service workers in the Brandywine School District.

Clara enjoyed reading and using her IPAD to do puzzles and solitaire. She liked to watch Jeopardy each night. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to all her children visiting each day.

Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benny W. Liro; and brothers, Elio Ciaschini and Harry Ciaschini.

She was loved and will be missed by her son, James Liro (Lisa) of Wilmington, DE.; daughter, Catherine Ricketts (Andrew) of Garnet Valley, PA.; daughter, Patricia Bonora (Matthew) of Wilmington, DE.; son, John Liro (Nancy) of Newark, DE.; and niece, Linda Chase (Roy) of West Warwick, RI.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am. Burial will be private.

 In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society-Delaware, PO Box 669, New Castle, DE 19720.
