Dorothy L. Krauss, age 89, of Claymont, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wilmington, DE on February 14, 1933, Dorothy was the daughter of the late William L. and Adeline (Farwell) Critzer. She retired from Children’s Home Incorporated, after 25 years of dedicated service.

Dorothy enjoyed travelling the beach, cooking and spending time with her family and many grandchildren. She also enjoyed the family Christmas parties, where Dorothy and her sisters would sing the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter W. Krauss; her 3 sisters, Joanne, Billie, Linda; and her grandson, William Shahan.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Walker (Tim); 3 loving children, Walter W. Krauss Jr. (Sheila) of New Castle, DE, Debra Kettlewood and Karen Bennett (Raymond) all of Claymont, DE; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

On behalf of the family of Dorothy, special appreciation is extended to the staff of Bayada Hospice for the kindness, friendship and loving care provided. A special thanks to Jill Brockus for the love and support for the family on Dorothy’s final days.

A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 10am-11am at Iron Faith Fellowship, 801 Darley Road Wilmington, DE 19810, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11am.  Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy.,  New Castle, DE 19720.
