Genevieve H. Wright

Genevieve H. “Jennie” Wright, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home in New Castle, DE on Tuesday, December 7,  2021.  

Jennie was born on December 17, 1952 in Wilmington, Delaware to Charles and Miriam Burke and was the oldest of  four children. She graduated from Delcastle in 1970. Jennie was married in September 1974 and was happily married for 46 years to Donald Wright. She worked at GORE for 25 plus years and retired at the age of 62.

Jennie enjoyed spending time at the beach fishing and watching the waves, as well as staying home watching her favorite shows with her dog, Riley and sneaking sweets. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Jennie was an angel and the kindest woman you would ever meet and is often described as the glue that held the family together. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to cross her path.

Jennie is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Charles (Krista); daughter, Michele (Phillip Sr.);  6 grandchildren, Brittany, Deanna, Phillip Jr., Jenna, Willow, Bella; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; 1 sister; nieces and nephews.

Service and burial will be private.
