Jennie D. Barnard, age 91, formerly of Newark, DE passed away July 22, 2019 at Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown, DE.

Jennie was born in Chester, PA, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Litacz) Kogut. She was employed by Sears Café for 15 years and, also worked at the Shell Factory.  Mrs. Barnard resided in Ft. Myers, FL for 2 years before retiring.  Her favorite pastime was gardening.  Jennie also enjoyed watching old movies and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her faith was also very important to her and she attended church regularly.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, J. Barnard; brothers, Peter Kogut, Joseph Kogut; sisters, Anita Sizemore, Josephine Debeico, Florence Kogut and Helen Kogut.  She is survived by her daughter, Jean D. Weaver (Donald); son, Les Barnard (Kelly); grandchildren, Donald E. Weaver II (Amy), Jason W. Weaver, Amanda M. Barnard, Nathan D. Barnard; and great grandchild, Bryan Austin Joseph Weaver.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 11am to 12pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE, 19720, where a Funeral Service will begin at 12pm.  Burial will follow in  Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
