Lillian L. Quillen

Lillian (Allen) Quillen of New Castle, DE, 78 years old, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on January 8, 2021.

Lillian will be remembered for her love of children and as a caregiver. She not only ran a daycare but was also a foster parent for many years. Many of the children she cared for still call her Mom or Aunt Lil even after they were grown.

She also had a heart for giving and volunteering. She was a volunteer at the VA in Elsmere, DE and loved spending time with people and helping when she was able.

Lillian’s favorite activity was spending time with her family. From shopping to beach trips, she always wanted to be close to her family and provide a welcoming home for gatherings.

She is survived by her sons, Richie Quillen and his wife, Christine, and Michael Quillen; her daughter, Julie Quillen; her grandchildren, Richie Quillen III, Michael Quillen, Christopher Quillen and Matthew Quillen; her sisters, Margaret Small, Connie Glover, and Linda Foster-Klingler; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lana Mark and Bonnie Arnold; brother, Gordon Allen Jr; parents, Margaret Allen Davis and Merryman Allen Sr.

A private funeral service will be held at Gebhart Funeral Home, Old New Castle, DE followed by a private burial in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
