Lynda C. Dikeman passed away peacefully in her home March 10, 2022, after 76 years of an incredible life.
The only daughter of the late John and Sara Carrow, Lynda was born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 18, 1946. In addition to raising 4 children, Lynda was a retired data entry clerk working at West End Community Center and Claymont Community Senior Center for most of her career. After she retired, Lynda became an evangelist and played an integral role in developing a local Baptist church. Her hobbies included writing, listening to Elvis and gospel music, reading the Bible, crocheting, feeding the neighborhood cats, and watching old black and white shows. She was devoted to her family and had a special soft spot for her daughter Angie and her granddaughter, Danielle.
A year after the passing of her soul mate, William “Bill” Wyatt, Lynda was diagnosed with breast cancer but continued to fight (and win) her battle.
The family would like to extend their deepest and most sincere gratitude to Delaware Hospice for the compassionate and impeccable care they took of Lynda during her finally weeks.
Lynda was preceded in death by her mother and father, 3 brothers, John, Fred, and Chris, 2 sons, William “Bil” Cooper and Michael Dikeman, and soul mate, William Wyatt.
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Dikeman and Christine Morris; former son-in-law, Vincent Morris; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Danielle and Ryan Lowe; lifelong family friend, Lucy Kendrick; and many other extended loved ones. Additionally, Lynda would be disappointed if King Louis and Kitty Mama, the fur babies, weren’t included.
The burial will be private for the immediate family, but Lynda’s daughter, Angie and granddaughter request that in lieu of flowers a donation to the Dementia Society of America or American Cancer Society be made in Lynda’s name.
