Milton "Mickey" V. Lord, Jr.

Milton “Mickey” V. Lord, Jr., 81, of Wilmington, DE, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at home.

He was the husband of the late Janet H. Lord with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Wilmington, DE he was the son of the late Milton V., Sr. and Edna M. Springer Lord.

Mickey was employed with Richard Herrmann Stair Builders from 1958-77, and Amtrak as a machinist for 37 years, retiring in 2014.

He enjoyed wood working, working with his hands and home projects. Mickey loved his family deeply. He had a great sense of humor and could always put a smile on anyone’s face. Mickey was adored by his family and many friends and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his son, Milton V. Lord, III (Shelia) of Wilmington, DE; two daughters, Pam Collins of Venice, FL and Joanne Clements (Bucky) of Wilmington, DE; ten grandchildren, Patrick Cook, Sr., Steven Lord, Jennifer Brennan (Mike), Amanda Daddazio (Ray), Melani Cruz, Julie Collins-Griffith (Ryan), Danielle Cullen (Chris), Gabrielle McCormick (Sean), Kathryn Collins and Emily Collins; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Marshall.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Leipold and Ruth Simmons.

Funeral services will be held at 12 pm Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703, where friends and family may visit from 10 am - 12 pm.

Interment will be private.
