Shirley May Greer

Shirley May Greer, age 71, of New Castle, Delaware died on Friday, March 30, 2021 while in Christiana Hospital.

Shirley worked at Goodwill Industries for a short time.

She is survived by her brother, Harry (Mary) Carlton of Massachusetts and their children; cousin, Frankie Greer of Newark, DE; boyfriend of 10 years, Heisler J. VanSant, Jr.; longtime friends, Mamie Hall and Sherry of New Castle, DE; many friends and Bishop Savage from the Latter-day Saints Church in Wilmington, DE;  and her special aide friends who took care of her at her home. 

She is predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Alice Greer, grandmother, Maude Greer and uncle, Ray Greer. 

We would like to thank Christiana Hospital of Newark for taking good care of Shirley while she was there.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 143 Dickinson Lane, Wilmington, DE 19807, where a visitation will begin at 10:00am.  Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
