Timothy A. Rietdorf, 85, of Claymont, Delaware, and Englewood, Florida, passed away on February 25, 2026 at Sunrise of Wilmington, surrounded by his family.
He was the owner and operator of T.A.Rietdorf & Sons, Electrical Contractors of Wilmington, for 46 years and was still working at 85.
He is survived by his wife, June, of 62 years and his two sons: Carl Rietdorf of Wilmington and Tim Rietdorf of Cocoa, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Jeanne Rietdorf, and his two sisters, Connie Collyer and Margo Rietdorf.
A former racecar driver, Mr. Rietdorf could rebuild any engine, marine or auto, and did so for many friends. He was an avid boater and enjoyed many hours on the Chesapeake Bay in his Uniflite and at Cape Haze, Florida, in his Formula. He was a kind and giving human being and always helping others. He will be missed by so many.
A private interment will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 In Gracelawn Memorial Park. There will be a celebration of Life in late May.
