Virginia Lee Mantine Obituary

Virginia “Ginny” Mantine passed away at age 87 on March 15, 2022 in Centerville, Ohio.

Ginny grew up in Wilmington, DE and was a graduate of Wilmington High School. After her marriage to Tony Mantine, they resided in Claymont for 49 years until Tony’s passing in 2001.

Ginny’s world revolved around family. She was a homemaker and loving spouse, mother and grandmother.  She was a wonderful cook and friends loved visiting her home, where she always greeted them with a smile, a cup of coffee and good conversation.

Christmas was her favorite holiday and she would open her home to friends and family every Christmas Eve to stop in for her famous meatball sandwiches.

During her years in Ohio, she enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packer’s games with her son, Anthony.

As her grandsons were growing up she looked forward to their visits from Texas every summer. While their friends were going to Disney World, her grandsons were just as excited to be going to visit Grandma and Pop-Pop.

Ginny is survived by her two children, Linda Mantine Doyle (Paul) of Austin, TX, Anthony Mantine of Dayton OH; three grandchildren, Timothy Doyle, Daniel Doyle, Jennah Mantine; two great-grandchildren, Rocco and Mei Doyle.

Her family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice of Dayton for their attentive care and efforts to keep her comfortable in her final days.

Her family also sends a special thanks to Alex and Debbie Faircloth for their selfless act of kindness.

Ginny was laid to rest with her beloved husband on March 25, 2022 at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood PA.
